Much of Kelly's special art was dedicated to educational purpose. Note that his copyright notice is topsy-turvy.

Out of This World
Over the years Kelly had a bit of a thing for blasting off for his guys. This is another of his messages for stay-in-school education.

?
Like most of us are doing these days, Pogo is reading the news (wow, from a newspaper? Are there such things anymore?). And like for most of us, it's all pretty bemildreding.

Nuts and Bolts
Another Sunday in 1962, so here's a Kelly specialty drawing.
Notice how the Rackety Coon Chile is miffed with the flea-bitten raccoon coat. And I'm assuming this is a dual-squirrel engine.
For better or worse: my shading.

Behind the News
Kelly did some nice specialty drawings for newspaper folks.
This one is colorized by me.
Update: A commenter was wishing this image was in higher resolution. Okay, here I've replaced the previous jpeg with this high res jpeg. I hope it comes across as such.

but thankful he was around at all!

On the Road Again.
Alimentary (nom de plumed after an obscure nephoo of Albert), is our newish and active Friend-in-Kelly. I say 'active' cuz he is taking Kelly art and running places with it, so to speak. This piece of Kelly art, to my understanding, was for a comic book cover that didn't come to be. Alimentary has taken the black & white drawing and applied some nice color to it to give us a pre-holiday treat.
Thank you A! You've got the Kelly spirit, no doubt about it.

Open Your Doors and Hearts
UNICEF — United Nations Children's Fund — one of Kelly's favorite causes. "The driving force that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realized", started out in Philadelphia in 1946 as a Halloween project, still going strong today.
