Not Quite Dry As a Bone

More sweetness and quietude, from 1952, one of my favorite years in more ways than one. Pup Dog never took on humanish behavior, to his credit. Beauregard, well, he vacillated.

  1. Beauregard is one of my favourite characters; the facial expression in Panel Five is only one small reason why.

    1. Hi Mark! Kelly certainly gave Beauregard his fair share of stage time over the years, making him one of the more expressive characters, with his heightened sense of drama.

  2. Yep! Beauregard is the more realistically drawn — and observed, too — of the Okefenokee Crew. Only a dog can be so human.
Kelly loved dogs, I hear. But not blindly, we all see.
