More sweetness and quietude, from 1952, one of my favorite years in more ways than one. Pup Dog never took on humanish behavior, to his credit. Beauregard, well, he vacillated.
Hi Mark! Kelly certainly gave Beauregard his fair share of stage time over the years, making him one of the more expressive characters, with his heightened sense of drama.
Yep! Beauregard is the more realistically drawn — and observed, too — of the Okefenokee Crew. Only a dog can be so human. Kelly loved dogs, I hear. But not blindly, we all see.
My name is Thom Buchanan.
I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.
Beauregard is one of my favourite characters; the facial expression in Panel Five is only one small reason why.
