Hey, just compare ole Fremount's face and hairdo in the last panel to those depicted earlier and you wiil have to agree that Walt Kelly was the GREATEST. Who else would have put so much love into so tiny detail. Thank you, THB (and a very happy birthday and a successful next year) Hun
Kelly was the GREATEST. It's the pressmen down in the printing plant that needed to pay attention. So many of my tear sheets are full of printing errors.
Thank YOU, Hun! You are a gentlemen's gentleman for your kind attention each and every week. I may be another year older, but I still feel like a young turk, in love with life.
gentleman's gentleman - a manservant who acts as a personal attendant to his employer; "Jeeves was Bertie Wooster's man" (from thefreedictionary) me Jeeves, you Bertie W.... Hun
Well, Jeeves...I mean Hun...that wasn't the way I meant it. Many times the reference is 'an actor's actor', or 'a man's man' or 'a writer's writer'—all meaning the best of the best. Not to be too gushing, but that's what I'm saying—You are of the finest gentlemen, as defined in the classic sense.
I used to love reading Wodehouse.
Oh, and could you be so kind as to have my suit cleaned and pressed by Friday?
Alimentary, your alligator cartoon is a hoot! I'm going to post it soon, if'n you don't mind. Actually, do let me know if it's alright...you might be prepping for an unveiling.
My suit? Ha, it's a joke with Hun being Jeeves. My suit? Ha, as if I own one. Cargo pants and work shirts, that's my wardrobe.
Oh, that was a special preview for you, as I'm still finishing the borders and backgrounds on the panels - Hun's seen some signs of it as well. I'm hoping to have an unveiling of it this early this month. I'm glad you like 'em though, and I'm planning to make it a thing over here since the main character inspired by old-school Albert. I actually wasn't sure if you'd seen it since I didn't get back a reply. I'm still setting up things on my end. Being a cartoonist is surprisingly hard work for as vaunted a job as it is!
My name is Thom Buchanan.
I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.

Thank goodness Howland put that recreational explosive someplace where the ill-effects would be minimal to Churchy.
ReplyDeleteI'm still around - just wrangling cartoon alligators of my own. What's this about a suit? Are you off to an event this weekend, Thomas?
