Kelly has woven in and out of my life since the fifties. After each hiatus the return invariably leads to a strip that reaches deep into my heart and brings a chuckle along with happy memories of friends and happy times. This strip is one.
The usual voting pattern -- when it's for an office people want to win -- is that everyone votes for himself, except that Pogo votes for Porky and Porky votes for Pogo.
This time Pogo doesn't want to award the job to anyone. I'm a little disappointed in Porky, but I guess his motives aren't quite the same as Pogo's.
Pogo's dissent is pretty quiet. He doesn't speak up before the vote, doesn't vote, and doesn't say anything but "Nossir" when questioned afterwards.
My name is Thom Buchanan.
I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.

I know what you mean, I feel the same way about Kelly and particular strips—deep into my heart.
