What this particular Sunday strip lacks in color magic, it certainly makes up for with enthusiasm. Porky's lament is certainly full of self-awareness.
It's a bit interesting that Kelly forgoes the use of actual chillun running around the table, indicating maybe that us grownups are still running around with our inner child.
For the most part Kelly seems to use 'God bless'. I'm guessing where he doesn't use it, he may be giving in to an editor's secular requests. He also used 'God rest ye merry gentlemen' a lot, and that would be hard to substitute. Hmm. 'O rest ye merry gentlemen'. Doesn't quite work, in the context of the song.
My name is Thom Buchanan.
I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.
I notice that Kelly kept switching from “God bless” to “Oh, bless” and vice versa. Any idea what determined that?
