Evocative Kelly

This is a re-post from early Pictorial Arts, but relevant to our current theme. One of the most evocative images Kelly ever created.

From Ten Ever-Lovin' Blue-Eyed Years with Pogo — 1959

  1. Wow! What a great panorama! Beautiful!
I have the same book, but mine doesn't have this in it...mine must be a newer 'revised' edition, darn it...

  2. I'm guessing that's from the hardcover, probably the endpapers. My copy doesn't have it either. I really need to look for HC editions of both that and Songs of the Pogo one of these years.

  3. Yes, hardcover endpapers. My most treasured book as a kid. Songs of the Pogo hardcover also worth having, color and all, the endpapers being a pasteup of interior art, but cleverly done. Will show after Christmas.
