  1. I always liked this particular story of Kelly's for some reason. And Deck Us All has my vote for one of the two or three rarest Pogo books so I imagine a lot of people haven't seen this before.

  2. Well, that's good to know. I was afraid folks were yawning. I bought this book brang new off the counter when I was a sprat. I've thumbed through it at least a thousand times over the years and I'm still not yawning.

  3. As somebody who wasn't even born until '71 I had to put my collection together the hard way. I'm prepared to say the run from Pogo Puce Stamp Catalogue to Prisoner Of Love is incredibly scarce compared to the rest of the books, with the Stamp Catalogue and Deck Us All fighting it out for first place. The Black Acid Society Black Book generally seems to get the highest price tag but I've seen several copies. And of course, now we can go to online stores and find them quickly. Which is nice but the hunt was part of the fun, too.

  4. Back in my day as a teen, I haunted dusty dark bookstores for early Pogo books, and those are some of the best days of my life (I was also filling my run of Frazetta book covers at that time). The hunt, with the occasional victory was glorious. Gad, what a geek I was and am.

  5. God, it makes me feel old to say that we acquired the Pogo books as they were published, going back to plain ol' POGO in 1951. 'Course, I was a mere tad of 6 at the time. Bltzgnp.
