Me is for You and You is for Me . . .

I've been doing this blog for so long, with so many posts, and now a year hiatus, that I have little idea what I've posted or not. And I'm too time-crunched right now to look backwards. So for a while I'm just posting some random panels that I really like, even if they've been posted before, just to keep a ball rolling around here.

This is a neat panel anyway, but I especially like Beauregard's intense passion. Wack wack wack wack wack

Little Cheerful Charlie Chums

This page is a little bit rough, but it gives you a pretty good view of the Sunday strip published on this date in 1962. I love that first panel line-up . . . well, heck . . . I love all the panels.

Wave of the Future

Referencing Barry Goldwater, Kelly speaks to our present. And Toffler's 'Third Wave' was still 18 years into the future.

A Real Screamer

I've never been in such a crunch with deadlines in all my professional years as an illustrator, so once again, and always, please pardon my lack of daily posts.

More or Less Magnificent

On this date back in '62 'twas a Sunday. And NOW, thanks to our Friend-in-Kelly 'Hun', we can fill in the blanks with a semblance of Sunday strips derived from his collection of flotsam and jetsam of original art scans and less than perfect digital scans of old microfiche.

I've been derelict in not sharing previous Sundays from that collection for January and February. Should I do a post catching up with those for all you completists out there?

And, as always, thanks HUN, for your commitment to Kelly!

Independent Hose Co

On this date, back in '62, was a Saturday, which is when Kelly would break continuity with a stand-alone strip for the sake of weekend subscribers only.

This looks like an ad for a hose company in Danbury, Connecticut.

Rolling A-Head

This is what happens when you put together two extremely opposite personalities. They just cancel each other out. Some marriages are like that . . . so I've heard.

Simply RIPPING Anecdote

Porky's sense of humor, or lack of it, pops up periodically, and it's quite revealing to see that suicide is a way of 'life' for him.

A Happy New Year

Heart-felt wishes for a good year of 2019 to you all!

I hand-colored this beautiful Kelly art several years ago as part of my tribute to his 100th birthday, and, well, it kinda says it all.

Let Nothing You Dismay

I never get tired of seeing Kelly's original art, specially when it's festive!
