I personally have not, even though I live in Georgia. It's not been active as far as I know for some time.
ReplyDeleteI do know someone that has been there, though, and that's Mr. Bill Holbrook of longest running webcomic, Kevin & Kell. I believe he received an award one year there, like back in 1998?
I talked with him about a year or so ago about it, and he was keen to go to one should it ever occur again. You might drop him a line at his website and ask of his recollections.

I attended a couple of Pogofests back in the 90s. They had tours of the Okefenokee swamp, a parade with a costumed Pogo (ala Mickey at Disney World), a facsimile Kelly workroom with original art, and some exclusive Pogo merchandise such as T-shirts. Selby Kelly attended most of them, as did Steve Thompson of the Pogo Fan Club. There was usually a current cartoonist guest of honor. It was a small but enjoyable celebration.
